Soundwalk Collective were recently allowed access to the archives of legendary filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard. The resulting LP, What We Leave Behind, sees the group manipulate sound found in everything from Godard’s short films to his outtakes to create curious and mesmerising electronic soundscapes. The influence of Jan Jelinek is very strong in their work, and it’s no surprise to find the micro-house pioneer getting in on the action on this EP. His remix is a woozy take similar to the music of his recent LP Zwischen. Elsewhere on the EP, we get a typically hypnotic minimal techno flip from Ricardo Villalobos and a warm, welcoming ambience by Petre Inspirescu.
