Gabor Lazar delivers the follow up we've been hoping for to his Mark Fell collaborative LP, 2015's The Neurobiology Of Moral Decision Making. Unfold is by far Gabor's most downright enjoyable expedition into how far he can twist and reshape the core components of 2-step, dub techno and footwork music, while still making tunes that are sure to pop off heads in both the "club" and your living room.
While it is a bit of an obvious statement to say that Gabor is heavily indebted to Mark Fell's SND and Sensate Focus output, Unfold is where he has truly locked and popped his sequencer into a new lane and really, found his own voice within this sound. Yet within moments of Unfold starting it's clear he has not only found his own voice, but he is shouting much louder than pretty much anyone else operating in this scene today.
On Unfold, Gabor is pushing further into the advancement of just what is possible with a laptop and a strong knowledge of the hardcore continuum, and as such is a very strong recommendation for all followers of Rian Treanor, AFX, Jlin, Lorenzo Senni, EVOL, Beatrice Dillon, FFT, Brainwaltzera and pretty much any other fwd thinking electronic musician you could dare to throw both his or our way.
Unfold is set to be one of the years most flexible, chewy and downright deadly dance records bar none.
