When operating under his PYE Corner Audio moniker, Martin Jenkins tends to keep his listeners guessing. He can shift from ambient synthscapes to synthwave to Balearic house from one release to the next. His output as Head Technician, on the other hand, can be relied on to steer closer to the waters of acid house and techno. This rings true on the project’s second LP. Out on Not Waving’s Ecstatic Records, Profane Architecture sees Jenkins utilising some classic gear - a TR-606, a TB-303, that sort of thing - to crank out eight retro-flavoured, slightly dystopian club pieces. Will appeal to fans of CPU and those who enjoyed PYE Corner Audio’s 2017 EP for Analogical Force.
