Still Music’s new series Jack To The Lost Chicago Reels features four tapes of long-lost radio sets from the time when Chicago ruled the world. All of the mixes in the series were recorded in the late 80s, a time when Midwest House was at its apex, though after been broadcast at the time the tapes had lain dormant until being recently bought by Still Music boss Jerome Derradji. The first run of these lovely cassettes ends with two mixes from elusive DJ Devastating Daryl. While not as well-known as some of his contemporaries, this mix and the concurrent ‘C’ volume show that he’s a DJ who’s just as worthy of your time.
