Returning to his home turf of M-Plant Records after a dalliance with Dekmantel, Robert Hood goes about his business with the usual aplomb on this three-track EP. These are three minimal techno tools from the guy who wrote the rulebook. ‘Clocks’ (not a Coldplay cover) has a great psychedelic ebb-and-flow, with the synth ostinatos disintegrating and re-forming over course of the track’s six-minute runtime. ‘Low Life’ features another swirling lead-line, this time played on organs, and also carries a whiff of jacking house about it. Closer ‘Go’ is the most obtuse of the three and will make for a nice bit of mid-set ballast.
