Yet more gear from Tako and Jamie Tiller’s Music From Memory imprint! The follow up to Early Tape Works Pt 1, this edition finds Japanese producer Kuniyuki Takahashi trawling his archives for old digital ambient realms (think Yutaka Hirose). Whereas Pt 1 was slightly more indebted to moody, minimalist rhythmic compositions this LP feels brighter and full of colour, those same signature production motifs are evident but the atmosphere is different. Pieces like ‘Ai Iro’ even navigate their way into cinema soundtrack territory at points. The trad Japanese influence is also massive on ‘Sakura No Mizu’ – another lovely release from MFM!
