The Hardest Working Label In Showbusiness drop their umpteenth EP of cracking retro jams. This time it’s the turn of Carl Finlow to step into the CPU ring under his Silicon Scally alias. A twenty-five-year veteran of the British ravesphere, Finlow uses his experience to create four tracks of measured, well-crafted club tackle on Projections. He shows his range on the A-side - while the title track is a warm, twinkling electro jam, ‘Rift’ is characterised by bone-shaking bass hits and some tense, paranoid synth work. He finds a neat midpoint on the two B-sides, both of which are the sort of sparky electronic funk that will mix well for DJs of many different styles.
