8Ball follows up 2017’s self-titled EP with a new single for Prayer’s Grade 10 imprint. ‘Total Kontrolz’ picks up where 8Ball left-off on the previous release. There may not be many balls in play here (pun intended) - just a vocal sample, break, bass and a single synth chord - but 8Ball doesn’t need much from which to construct jungle tracks with a pleasing airiness to them. The dry, clean sound of this tune means it’ll mix nicely across many different styles. Mr. G comes in for remix duties on the flipside, and things are as you’d expect with his ‘G10 Dub’. Slowing down the track’s essential elements to jacking house tempo, G daubs the cut with light splashes of melody to pleasing effect.
