Batu’s Timedance unleash their first full-length, a compilation of cross-pollinated club fare. The three tracks from the Patina Echoes teaser EP all feature here, and rRoxymore, Bruce and Chekov’s cuts sound just as good when nestled amid the surrounding tunes. There are the sort of weighty soundsystem techno cuts that one has come to expect from the Bristolian imprint - Via Maris, Neinzer and Simo Cell excel on this count - but also a good range that has been hitherto absent from Timedance releases. Ploy’s closer, for instance, is a smoky almost-ambience that recalls Hype Williams, while Nico’s ‘Soft Opening’ is a delicate two-step.
