Africa Seven continue on a roll with their spotlight shining, quality assured reissue LP’s covering the musical heyday of the vast continent. After killers from Pasteur Lappe, Sorry Bamba and Manu Dibango we have Born in Africa from Charly Kingson. This Dutch press album has long been mega expensive and sought after amongst disco freaks, containing a bunch of floor filling good time cuts. There’s the usual mixture of downtempo, soulful ballads to help break the album up too. Check the understated but suitably funky ‘Manyaka’!
