Subwax Bcn delivers this collaborative LP between Rod Modell (Deepchord, Echospace) and Detroit audio-visual duo nospectacle. Together they have created an EP of stargazing ambient techno in the best Detroit tradition. Beginning with a dense and impressionistic ambience, the EP largely eschews the dancefloor for more cerebral meditations. ‘Part 3’ is the only track here which you would immediately identify as club fare, and even then its snappy minimal groove comes shrouded in a thick fog of reverb. The drums patter more lightly on parts 2 and 4, with often nothing other than a softly thumping kick underpinning the trio’s cosmic excursions.
