From releasing on Newcastle favourites Opal Tapes through to Rabih Beaini’s Morphosis imprint by way of our beloved Warp, the Iranian musician Sote now readies this new LP for Sub Rosa. Inspired by the fourth world concept of ancient vs. modern and digital vs. acoustic, we find Sote working closely with Arash Bolouri (Persian hammered dulcimer) and Behrouz Pashaei (Four string sitar) to craft heavily processed fusions of old world instruments and digitally manipulated noise mutations. The result makes for an immersive listen and one of the deepest Sote recordings we’ve heard yet.
