Caleb Braaten’s Sacred Bones imprint has been a firm favourite for fans of indie rock and avant-folk since launching back in 2007. Over 10 years later and showing no signs of slowing down they present this new four track EP from Norwegian songstress Jenny Hval. Here she works with the same compositional elements on each track but gives them all their own unique identity. Opening piece ‘Spells’ sounds like the best top 10 pop hit you’ve never heard. If only the radio played this rather than the usual nonsense.
