An EP from UK DJ and producer, Randomer, comes out on Dekmantel’s UFO label. Having previously released on influential imprints such as L.I.E.S., Hemlock Recordings, Clone Basement Series and Numbers, it seems there isn’t anywhere that Randomer’s releases aren’t welcome. ‘Slicing’ is a techno/electro outfit with tracks like ‘Shadow Harp’ winding its way into a sonic intensity that suddenly releases, only to come back noisier, with the kick drum and fleeting chimes heavier and more chaotic than before. ‘Dissolve’ disorientates in a manner similar to a siren, whirring its way rhythmically in and out of aural focus, while the EP’s title track is so heavy it almost sounds dangerous, like drilling against something close to combustion.
