Launched in the 01' and turning everyone onto post-punk-funk-disco business the world over, James Murphy, Tim Goldsworthy and Jonathan Galkin's uber-hipster NYC imprint still has the ability to make waves on the dancefloor.
Beginning as a series of zeitgeist capturing twelves (the debut, Rapture 'House Of Jealous Lovers' and Juan Mclean's 'By the Time I get To Venus' ) the DFA disco-bomber soon shot into the stratosphere with the phenomonal runaway of The Rapture's full length ' Echoes' circa 03. EMI soon came calling and the indie snapped up some lucrative distribution action with the major. Since then Murphy and Goldsworthy have hit sales dynamite with LCD, become the call-to production/remix outfit for many of the globe's coolest names and splintered the company to Death From Abroad featuring collabs with European producers and Berlin's Supersoul records for a run of hot as hell compilations. Don't forget your cowbell...
