An English independent record label forged in 2004 by Julian House and Jim Jupp, Ghost Box was first drawn around a loose manifesto of half-memories, of music for schools, old-fashioned horror stories, library music, English surrealism and dark psychedelia. Early releases were scored on limited CDR with a beautiful aesthetic image borne out by House, artists to have passed through it's spooky, spectre riddled corridors include The Focus Group, Advisory Circle, Roj, Eric Zann, Mount Vernon Arts Lab. A close-knit web of pseudonyms an allies making a music so Britiish, so strange and crackling with the haunts of BBC Radiophonics, lost TV programs, vintage science-fiction synths and much much more. 2010 has seen teh label release its first -of many- vinyl title. Long may this corner of Belbury continue.
"not just a record label, but an imaginary world".
