Planet Mu

Originally conceived as a Virgin-led vehicle for Mike Paradinas to put out his u-ziq material in 1995 until mainstream-stasis was shattered by the epoch changing 'Mealtime' compilation in '97. A mega rare twelve featuring the likes of AFX, Jega and Elton Fastbrook, its critical plaudits didn't match the harsh economics of Virgin and so Paradinas went it alone.

ZIQ001 is Jega's 98' timeless noise classic 'Type Xero'. The tempo was set. And it was fast. Since then Paradinas et. al have moved premises often but remained dedicated to a solitary breed of mongrel electronic music. Some artists to have stepped through the acid-flecked Mu walls include Vibert, Venetian Snares, Gasman, Shitmat and AFX. Since its early drill-n-bassisms the Mu palette has expanded toward Dubstep (Boxcutter, Vex'd, Distance) glistening-electronics (Leafcutter john, Sunken Foal) and Scandinavian Skwee in Eero Johannes.
