More Time Records
Launched in 2017 by London-based DJ/producers SNØW and Ahadadream, in three years More Time Records has smashed its way to the forefront of the scene with a forward-thinking, signature sound of percussion-driven dance music, which saw the label close out 2019 with a nomination for Best Breakthrough Label at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards.
With releases from the label founders, alongside Mina, Dismantle, Zed Bias, Bryte, Bala Bala Boyz, Mxshi Mo, O.M.A.A.R, DJ Tess, Logan, Leila Samir, Sonia Calico and more, More Time’s forward-thinking model reflects an international vision; marrying the sounds of Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, the DRC and South Africa with a distinctive rugged UK edge that harmoniously circles bass, afrobeats, funky, grime and techno.
More Time is regularly supported by leading tastemakers, such as Four Tet, Bonobo, Skrillex, Benji B, Ben UFO, Giles Peterson, Tash LC, Fatboy Slim, Lil C, Skream, Jamz Supernova (BBC 1Xtra), Tom Ravenscroft (BBC 6Music), Toddla T (BBC R1) and the late, truly great Andrew Weatherall.
The label’s releases have been heard everywhere from specialist radio, to daytime BBC Radio 1, Stella McCartney’s runway, Afro Nation, Boiler Room, Berghain’s Panorama Bar and Notting Hill Carnival, alongside soundtracking international campaigns for Samsung, Uber, Ballantines and Nike.
More Time are also known for their high-energy parties in South East London, and summer ‘19 saw the label gain further recognition as they were invited to host stages at a selection of key UK festivals; Glastonbury, Boomtown, Kallida and the inaugural Boiler Room Festival.
In September ‘19, More Time announced their most ambitious project to date, Timewarp. The label put out a new release every week for twelve weeks, correlating with the twelve hours on the More Time clock, hosted some radio takeovers along the way on BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC 6Music, Reprezent and NTS, curated Spotify’s prestigious All Night playlist, and concluded the campaign with a vinyl compilation of all new music on the legendary R&S Recordings; R&S presents: More Time Records Vol 1, complete with a sold-out More Time vs R&S Records party in South London.
