Mint Condition’s reissue of Peter 'Doggy' Duggal’s 1990 EP Psyche - a prime tome from the golden age of bleep techno - finds the original tracklisting augmented by a pair of previously unreleased treats. Made when Doggy was still a teenager, ‘Psyche’ and ‘Dog Food’ are superb examples of both the bleep & bass sound as a whole and the style of the Rham! label which originally put the tracks out. These tunes very much hold their own against other Rham! drops such as A Guy Called Gerald’s ‘Voodoo Ray’, their juddering basslines and chunky programmed drums an exemplary demonstration of the rave sound which was sweeping the UK at the time of their release.

‘Psyche’ and ‘Dog Food’ both come remastered from their original DATs here, but those tapes have also provided the Psyche EP with two rare gems from Duggal’s vaults. One is an alternate mix of ‘Psyche’ which closes out the EP, while the other, ‘Haze’, represents a subtle change of pace for Doggy - this is a loose-limbed and minimally-furnished electronics workout in which broken-beat 808s hop around a thick, meaty sub bassline.

Originally released in 1990, Peter 'Doggy' Duggal’s cult-classic bleep & bass EP Psyche is remastered and bolstered with a pair of rare tracks for this new edition from the Mint Condition label.
