The work of Louis Carnell aka Visionist oddly defies categorisation; it skirts the outer edges of experimental electronics, venturing through obscurity into territories both transcendentally terrifying and awe-inspiringly beautiful. Following the release of his third album A Call to Arms, the UK producer and musician swings by for a revelatory Bleep exclusive mix of like-minded sonic outlanders, some of whom have shared his direct vicinity. Collaborator Ben Vince trills his sax over an amorphous ambient blur, as ambitious neo-classical transformers Julia Holter and A Silver Mt Zion obfuscate human sounds into something beyond human — not unlike Carnell himself.
