With a wide range of interviews, from DJs, club-owners, music producers, bouncers and the Berlin audience, Der Klang Der Familie tells the story of the emergence of techno and its club scene after the fall of the wall, and how it has played a crucial role in the cities evolution and the development of electronic music in the rest of the world.

Divided into three sections: "The 80's", "1990-1990" and "1992-1996", those interviewed include: Mike Banks, Alec Empire, Mark Ernestus, Robert Hood, Paul Van Dyk, and Wolle XDP.
