Separately Aquarian and Deapmash are two of the more exciting up-and-comers in the European techno scene at the moment, so it won’t be a surprise to find out that they make pretty great stuff as a duo as well. Infrared, the pair’s Houndstooth debut, finds them wreaking havoc in AQXDM mode. The title-track kicks off the EP, opening up from a cautious techno number into a Randomer-style rager. The punishing ‘Tunnel Vision’ does something similar before AQXDM take a left-turn into old-skool breakbeat-techno with ‘Leisure Techno’. The breaks are increased to jungle tempo for closer ‘The Good Old Days Are Tomorrow’. ‘Requiem’ appears as a bonus cut on the digital versions of Infrared.
