Yves Tomas

Label Biography

With two musicians for parents, Yves’ childhood was spent mostly on tour, or in recording studios. Surrounded by music and raised mostly in Bristol during the golden age of jungle and dnb, his career path was almost pre-destined.

“My parents made jungle and drum and bass and I loved it. It’s the life blood to a lot of what I do now. Later on, it was the early 140, grime instrumentals, flat beat, house, techno and breakbeat that really gave my musical identity autonomy and independence as a developing artist”, explains Yves.

At the age of thirteen, he was engineering his mum’s major-label signed band. It was the technical aspect of this world that fascinated him the most, and so at sixteen, Yves moved to London to work with the likes of Stormzy and Mabel. After finally deciding to take the leap with his own artist project, some of his tracks turned up on the desktop of Radioslave, who immediately snapped up the new producer for his own label Rekids, and Yves Tomas' new journey as a recording artist began with the release of his debut EP, Pilot, in May 2020.

Yves spent lockdown making music for a Sacai campaign for Nike and soundtracking renowned filmmaker Georgia Hudson’s beautiful film, Temper.
