I like to follow bands and get a sense for their development….i think with the xx and especially with this track you get the impression that the music sounds a little more layed back and serious but still their kind of DIY style.
this is for me a typical james blake piece and when the piano, his voice and the sparse beat come together it is a extraordinary combination. it touches me.
I've known Michael since he did a first remix for my electronic duo Tonetraeger (It doesn't exist anymore, but i still like the records). I think Michael Mayer’s music is very energetic and great dance music, but there is always a slight intellectual hint in his music that i think makes it very special.
Johann’s music has followed me for a while now and i am glad that he seems to always follow the arty approach which i think makes his music, and the context he puts it in, very pure and beautiful.
This is one of my favorite pieces of music from my friend dustin o Ohalloran. it is a great chord progression and very subtley played. i think it has everything it needs to be a great piano piece.
