Bleep Mix #36 - Furthur Electronix

Furthur Electronix presents Bleep Mix #36, an acid-drenched journey through the cyber-sounds that influenced the label's landscape, from stone cold Skam/Mask classics to enticing ambience from Global Communication and even the lesser spotted FSOL alias Amorphous Androgynous, while also showcasing the freshest Furthur Electronix trax from Brainwaltzera and Tusken Raiders.

Get ready for a rinse out with an EP of smart and stylish breakbeat with big kickdrum reverb, classic rave sounds and satisfying, deep basslines from seasoned UK producer The Dexorcist.

Fluid breakbeat rhythms are disrupted by a rewarding drop into a bass-driven rave-up on the title track, whilst Floor Cleaner has a steadier descent into a heady peak. Old school rave flavours are abundant on crowdpleaser Get Some, and Insanity Clause steps it up a gear with a catchy bassline peppered with snappy breaks. This is a great all-rounder for the record bag with four standout tracks with definite potential to tear the roof off.

Dublin’s Cignol is in something of a career renaissance after a recent run of well-received EPs across a number of killer labels. That added buzz has led to this: a reissue of his 2010 debut LP Switching For A Living on vinyl for the first time. Comprised of tracks recorded from 2005-2009, Switching’s sci-fi feel and eclectic palate was deeply influenced by 90’s electronica, downtempo and ambient music. Intended as a genuine “listening album” Cignol has a magnificent way of mixing those seemingly disparate influences into something both coherent and singularly appealing.
