Austrian born Christian Fennesz is one of  the most outstanding persons to be operating in his field; for over ten years now he has woven his deconstructed, spiralling guitar shapes through the audio maze in countless collaborations and solo releases each of which deserve the highest praise. 

Severing the electric guitar from its stodgy heritage Fennesz has since set sail in Venice across the Black Sea and onto A Desolate Shore. Through the glistening spectrum of star gazing white noise do his subtle melodies roam, field music segues through the mist. Like the sound of nature fed into the digital world and spun back out again, majestically, gracefully sometimes noisily. Always brilliantly. Like few other contemporaries Christian Fennesz has crafted his own musical language.
